3 Reviews: Gag-alicious

Sextoy.com sent me three gags to review recently, all made by Fetish Fantasy: Ball Gag Training Kit, Double Fish Hook Restraint, and Three Piece Muzzle Set. What can I say, I’m trying to find my favorite gag.

Ball gags have often triggered my gag reflex or made me feel like I was drowning in my saliva. I still endeavored to find one that would work for me, and I’m quite happy with the ball gag training kit. You see, it comes with three different size ball gags (breathable ones with holes) that snap onto the leather head strap. The smallest one was actually wearable for me! The medium and large will have to be worked up to, but I finally managed to wear a ball gag for a period of time! The different size balls attach easily by snaps. This means they can also be removed from the strap for cleaning. I doubt they’re sterilizable, however.

The double fish hook restraint is not a gag per se, but it holds your mouth open a bit by pulling on the corners (and it’s difficult to speak like that). I would call it more of a bondage implement. The metal hooks are plastic coated and fairly comfortable, although comfort really isn’t the name of the game with this item. I wasn’t as enamored of this as I had hoped, but I think this may be a personal preference than anything else. While I tried it out on myself, I haven’t had the opportunity to try it out in a scene.

The muzzle set? Oh my what can I say about the muzzle set? I tried it on by myself after getting it, and was so turned on I had to immediately masturbate while I had it on. I am definitely a muzzle type of gal. (My favorite gag has long been just a piece of duct tape across the mouth.) This set comes with three snap-on fronts. One is solid, another has a few holes with grommets. The third is mesh. I think I like the solid one the best, after all you can breathe through your nose just fine with the muzzle on. Not pictured on the box is the elastic strap that goes over your head – it musses your hair and makes you look goofy, but it really is necessary to hold the muzzle on securely. (MasterDoc, please use the muzzle on me!)

All three of these come with a free “love mask,” which is just a cheaply made blindfold. I tossed mine. I realize it’s meant to be a bonus gift with purchase, but they don’t really add anything of value. Fetish Fantasy products are pretty basic – but they are inexpensive and ideal for trying out new items. If you don’t like it you aren’t out much cash, and if you love it you can look around for a place that makes it with softer leather, or more sturdy. Still, these toys should last a reasonable length of time.

Review: Lelo Gigi from Babeland

Ever since I discovered Lelo toys in 2008, I have lusted after the Gigi, their g-spot vibrator. I was given the choice of what to review direct from the company way back then for that first review, and I went back and forth between the Nea and the Gigi. I ultimately took the Nea.

Lelo Gigi

Now, I haven’t regretted getting the Nea as I love it and still use it regularly. It’s a great little clitoral vibe – not to mention pretty like all Lelo products. I was pleased to get the Lelo Ella to review a while back because it’s the non-vibrating version of the Gigi, and I loved that too. The Liv, which I also reviewed is similar in size to the Gigi, but it doesn’t have the g-spot specific shape. Despite all the Lelo wonderfulness I had gotten my hot little hands on, I still pined away for the Gigi. And yes, I could have splurged and purchased it, but as a toy reviewer I was convinced that someday… someday I might manage to get it to review.

And praise the Gods of Sex Toys, I won a Gigi when Babeland raffled off five to reviewers. Now, was it worth the wait? Oh hell yes. I love the design as it provides a firm, round surface to press against your g-spot. The silicone is velvety, not to mention you can sterilize it by wiping down with a 10% bleach solution. It’s angled perfectly, for me anyway, to hit that special spot. I found the controls easier to figure out than the Nea. (The Nea takes a bit of playing with before I manage to turn it on each time. Just when I think I’ve figured it out it doesn’t work like I think it will.) There’s a variety of vibration patterns and varying intensity of vibration. Unlike battery powered vibes (like all Lelo vibrators the Gigi is rechargeable) it really packs enough of a punch to get me off. (And I like intense vibes like the Hitachi Magic Wand, however I tend to prefer it on its low setting – so those of you who like weapons-grade sex toys might not be able to fully come from the Gigi. But then again, you might. I’m kinda on the edge of the weapons-grade sex toy fandom. I like a good strong vibration.) The Gigi not only feels lovely inside me, against my g-spot, it also feels great on my clit. The Gigi has turned out to be all that I had hoped it to be. Not all sex toys live up to the hype or your fantasies about them, but the Gigi, like all other Lelo products, came through for me. Highly recommended.

Review: Lelo Ella from Babeland

When I first discovered Lelo toys I wanted them all. When pressed to pick one for review from what was available at the time, I narrowed things down to the Nea and the Gigi. I opted for the Nea. Now while I love my Nea, I have lusted for the Gigi all along. Unfortunately, the opportunity to review one hasn’t come my way, however when Babeland offered the non-vibrating version, the Ella, I jumped at the chance.

I love the Ella. It makes me want the Gigi even more.

Ella is made of high quality silicone, and it’s velvety to the touch. It’s firm, yet yields a little bit – kinda like a real cock – but the Ella is designed specifically to hit your g-spot. When showing it to new people I have to explain that it’s not the phallic shaped handle that you insert (although you can definitely use it that way if you’d like) but the strange nobby end that goes inside. The nobby bit, presses evenly on your g-spot which feels phenomenal if you’re into g-spot stimulation like I am. The combination of the Ella inside and the Hitachi Magic Wand on my clit was stellar. I couldn’t possibly exaggerate how good it felt. You could also apply the Magic Wand to the handle of the Ella to make it vibrate – sort of a makeshift Gigi!

It’s not the toy to reach for if you’re looking to feel filled as it’s relatively small. But for g-spot stimulation it is par excellence. It can be sterilized easily (10% bleach solution rub down or boiling) and thus can be shared between partners with sterilization in between. Or you can always slip a condom over it for easy and safe swapping (change the condom between people of course).

You can get the Ella at Babeland for $44, which is a wonderful price for a toy that’s made of quality material that should last a lifetime. Knowing what I know now, I really should have bought the Ella ages ago.

Review: Babeland Remote Vibe Panty

I had high hopes for these panties. I’ve searched high and low for a remote control vibe that meets the following criteria – fits my plus size body and the vibe sits on the clit. Babeland made these panties to be fairly adjustable, and they will fit a MUCH wider range of sizes than most “one size fits most” panties (from 25″ to 65″ hips according to the site). I was able to wear them, although they were bit small on my size 18 body. The fabric barely covered my butt crack in back and the adjustable ties dug into the flesh of my hips as I wore them. I had to wear them extremely low on my hips – but I think that’s where they’re meant to be. If you’re a larger lady than me, you probably won’t be able to wear them.

Still, I was excited that they actually fit, even if not very well. Other than the ties digging into me, they were comfortable. I wore them out to dinner and a swing club with MasterDoc and unfortunately we forgot the remote in the car over dinner. But I was aroused by the feeling of the egg nestled against my clit (it sits in a pocket in the panties), even when it wasn’t vibrating. The egg looks like it will show under your clothes, but as long as you’re not wearing anything tight it’s actually not too visible. (I wore it with pants that fit but weren’t tight and later with a skirt – couldn’t see it under either. Fears that I’d look like I was packing were unfounded.) Overall, the egg wasn’t too noticeable visibly or by feeling when worn. It wasn’t uncomfortable.

At the swing club, we got the remote control out of our bag. MasterDoc played with it and a few problems became apparent – you can’t tell when it’s switched off (it goes through three levels of vibration and the light on the remote only comes on when you press the button – not when the vibe is on necessarily) and they don’t turn off easily. For turning on, the range isn’t too bad, a few feet away seems ok. But when it comes to changing the vibration and turning it off the remote only worked right near the panties. This seems to go against the point of having a remote control. The range is supposed to be up to 16-feet, we didn’t get it to work even half that far away.

The toy comes with two sets of batteries for each the controller and the egg. The egg takes four watch batteries and the remote takes one of those small A-type remote control batteries (you can get them easily at Radio Shack). I tried the toy out when I got it in the mail and left the batteries in the egg. Big mistake – even left off, the batteries died. (I had taken the battery out of the remote for storage.)

Despite all these drawbacks this is still the best set of remote control panties I’ve tried (by far). Faint praise, I realize. There’s kinks to work out, but I think Babeland is at least on the right track. I can see us playing with these panties again, but perhaps at home rather than out. Hopefully in the future they’ll be able to offer something spectacular. If the remote was stronger and clearly indicated when the vibe was on, off, or on which level of vibration that would be a huge improvement.

  • LELO Ina by Raven Quince
  • Yes! Yes! Yes! Do it again! Mmmmmm! Wow. Thank you, baby.

INA has given me insta-orgasms. On my first try, despite not knowing how to work the controller and accidentally attempting to insert both parts of it into me, I fumbled my way to a gushing orgasm in just a few quick minutes. The second trial included my husband’s cock and a butt plug – I came strongly and in no time flat. INA my new best friend.

Note: Possibly the most adorable LELO review ever! Who doesn’t love to see photos of the reviewer in a bunny suit to celebrate LELO’s awesome rabbit vibe! Seriously, go look at the pictures and read it.

Review: Tenga Egg from Babeland

In looking for details on the Tenga Egg while writing this review, I came across this bit of hilarity. Just in case you want to know more uses for your Tenga Egg.

Funny uses aside, the Tenga Egg is a masturbation sleeve. It comes in a variety of textures (Silky, Stepper, Twister, Spider, Clicker, and Wavy; we had the Stepper) and are either available singly, or in a half-dozen. The “masturbation eggs” are cleverly packaged in plastic eggs, with an insert inside of the sleeve containing a packet of lube. I’ve read some places that they’re intended for single use ($12 for one wank!?!), but with careful cleaning I’ve found it can be used multiple times. (It’s been used about three times and it’s still in terrific condition.) The material is extremely stretchy and soft (it’s TPE). The Tenga Egg is also small enough to fit in a pocket.

Since I don’t have a bio-penis, I enlisted MasterDoc’s help reviewing this toy. He summed up his experience succinctly: “nice consistency, but ultimately inferior to a well lubed hand.”

I read a suggestion on Babeland’s site that you could turn the egg inside out and use it as a topper on a Hitachi magic wand. I gave this a go and the texture did add something to my masturbation. I needed to use lube with it since the material has some “grip,” but the texture was nice against my clit even with the intense vibration of the wand.

So overall, the Tenga Egg is nice but not necessarily amazing.

  • Liberator Axis Hitachi by Carnivalesq
  • Epiphora commented that “the Hitachi takes up like entire vulva,” and therefore wanted to know “if I have to like buttsex to have it work for partner play.” I argue that the Hitachi does not take up the whole vulva, but recognize that I may, in fact, be super human.

Note: Carnivalesq’s Illustrated Axis Hitachi Positioning Guide is just awesome and you should read it. ‘Nuff said.
